What to prepare (UA/UPC)

Get your house connected fast:

  • Housemate Agreement Appoint one person to be the account holder. Collect monthly payments from housemates before the bill is due to avoid service suspension.
  • Landlord Notice Inform your landlord you are installing Maxis Fibre. Most are happy as it upgrades the unit value. No hacking is usually required.
  • Router Spot Place the router in the living room. For UA apartments (which are around 600-700 sqft), one router usually covers the whole unit perfectly.

Installation Flow (Sulaman)

Getting connected near UMS:

  • 1) WhatsApp Check Send us your Phase, Block, and Unit Number.
  • 2) Secure Slot We book the local Maxis technician. Slots fill up fast during semester start (Feb/Sept)!
  • 3) Install Technician sets up the modem. Takes about 1 hour.
  • 4) Live Instant activation. Connect your laptops and start studying (or gaming).

Student Plan Recommendation

Best value for sharing.

  • 300Mbps Plan Ideally shared by 4 students. Approx RM37 per person/month. Fast enough for everyone to watch Netflix or join online classes at the same time.

International Student Guide

For non-Malaysian residents.

  • Passport Application You can sign up using your Passport. A refundable deposit of RM500 is required. You get this money back when you finish your degree and close the account.

FAQ (University Apartments)

What if I move units next semester?
Maxis Fibre has a Relocation Service. You can move your internet line to your new unit (e.g., from UA1 to UA2) for free, subject to coverage.
Can I install on weekends?
Yes, Saturday slots are available. This is convenient if you have classes on weekdays.
Who keeps the router?
The router belongs to Maxis during the contract. If you cancel, you must return it. If you finish the 24-month contract, the router becomes yours.
Is installation free?
Yes, standard installation is free.
